What is Law



Definition of Law


Philosopher does not reach unanimity about law. So Some Philosophers describe about definition of law. Here are some below-

Famous State scientist Holland said about definition of law- "A law is a general rule of external human action enforced by a sovereign political authority."

Extreme philosopher Thoams Hobes said- "The civil law is the command of him which endowed with supreme power in the state concerning the future actions of his subjects."

John Austin said a little definition of law-" Law is the command of the suvereign."

According to the father of the political science Aristotle - "Law is passionless reason."

Former American president Woodrow Wilson define a nice and popular definition of law-"Law is that portion of the established thought and habit which has gained distinct and formal recognition in the shape of uniform rules backed by the authority and power of the government."

At last we can say that law is the some rules which directed government or intuitions.
